The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board is proud to announce its continued support for elite athletes through the 1/2026 Public Call: “Promoting the Visit Sarajevo Brand through Financial Support for Individual Athletes.” This initiative aims to bolster the international profile of Sarajevo as a premier, vibrant travel destination.
Sports Ambassadors on the Global Stage
Through this call, approximately 50 individual athletes have been selected for their outstanding results and international presence. These competitors serve as vital ambassadors, carrying the “Visit Sarajevo” brand to the world’s most prestigious sporting arenas.
Among those supported is Damir Stroil, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most successful strongman competitors. A finalist in the Strongman Champions League, Stroil goes head-to-head with the world’s most elite power athletes. His remarkable achievements have firmly placed Sarajevo on the map of this demanding global sport.
