The average length of stay during this period was 2.4 days.
Over a slightly longer period, from 29 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, the city welcomed 23,208 tourists, who generated 52,150 overnight stays. This period also saw growth, with 1.6% more arrivals and 4.0% more overnight stays compared to the previous year, and an average stay of 2.3 days.
The highest number of visitors came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Türkiye, Austria, Italy, Germany, and China.
These results confirm that Sarajevo remains an attractive and competitive destination for the New Year holidays, thanks to its rich program of events, unique atmosphere, and continuous promotion of the Visit Sarajevo brand.
“We are very satisfied with the turnout. The concert organization was excellent, and we had the longest New Year’s celebration in the region. These results provide a strong foundation to make the next New Year’s celebration even better, with a unique offer lasting longer than ever before. We thank everyone who chose Sarajevo as their New Year destination and look forward to welcoming you again,” emphasized Haris Fazlagić, President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.
