The Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board successfully presented its destination at the prestigious Ferienmesse Wien, one of the most important tourism fairs in this part of Europe, held from 15 to 18 January 2026.

Throughout the fair, we recorded a large number of inquiries about our destination. Visitors showed strong interest, most frequently asking about the attractions to visit in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the easiest ways to reach the city, available air and other transport connections and their frequency, as well as options for campers and cyclists, who are increasingly choosing our destination for their travels.

Significant interest in our destination was also shown by TV Wien, which described Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the announcement of its TV feature as a place offering mountains and rich history, highlighting our culture, gastronomy, nature, and urban tourism. They emphasized that Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina represent a destination that successfully combines tradition and contemporary life and is becoming an increasingly popular choice among travelers from Austria.

We were particularly honored by the visit of the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Austria, Mr. Siniša Bencun, who visited our stand and expressed his support for the promotion of Bosnian and Herzegovinian tourism.

At the fair, we exhibited together with co-exhibitors from Una National Park, presenting the richness of natural beauty, opportunities for active holidays, and authentic experiences that Bosnia and Herzegovina has to offer.

Ferienmesse Wien is an exceptionally important platform for connecting with international markets and for promoting Sarajevo and Sarajevo Canton as an attractive, accessible, and diverse tourism destination. Last year’s edition of the fair attracted more than 71,000 visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from around the world, making it an excellent opportunity for travel enthusiasts, people planning holidays and trips, and especially for professionals from the tourism industry.
