It was built in 1882 as a private property of Vienna’s industrialist Heinrich Lewy known as Sarajevo Brewery. But this is not the first local brewery. The first Sarajevo brewery was founded in 1864 by a wealthy trader and industrialist Josef Feldbauer in the Kovačici settlement, to be followed by other breweries with their plants later.The brewery is not just a beer brewing product, the brewery is part of the BH. cultural and historical heritage. Within the Sarajevo Brewery, the Museum, the only such kind in BiH, was opened. The museum setting is divided into different periods – the Ottoman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the world wars, the socialist period and the period after the aggression in BiH.
