In the play “Schindler’s Lift”, produced by Sarajevo’s Kamerni Teatar 55, the story of the Red Skyscraper in Prijedor is staged as a metaphor for Yugoslavia and its disintegration.
The author of the novel Schindler’s Lift, Darko Cvijetić, still lives today in that very Red Skyscraper in Prijedor. The stage adaptation and direction of the play were undertaken by Kokan Mladenović.
The protagonists who remain on the stage of this piece as well as in the real-life building it portrays demonstrate a profound sense of honor and integrity toward the events that took place during a period many are eager to forget.
This production by Kamerni Teatar 55 stands as a symbol of decency in a time of evil.
