The Chairman of the Commission in the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, Kenan Magoda, met with the Director of the Tourism Department of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Aylin Odabas.

 

The meeting discussed joint activities that can contribute to the recovery of tourism as the sector most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the development and improvement of tourism potential. It has been agreed to organize and hold a tourism fair in Sarajevo, as soon as the conditions and situation with the pandemic allow. An event of this type, in cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, will certainly be a big step in the process of tourism recovery and positioning the Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina as desirable tourist destinations, the meeting participants concluded.

 

 

It was also agreed to hold a joint seminar organized by the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce’s Tourism Department, with the aim of exchanging experiences, finding effective ways out of the crisis and mitigating the negative consequences of the pandemic.

 

Director Odabas emphasized that she knows and understands the situation in which BiH tourism finds, and accepted with approval the invitation of the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton to expand cooperation in all fields for the purpose of economic development, strengthening the tourism economy and recovery of tourism as soon as possible. 

 

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce is the largest chamber of commerce in Turkey and one of the largest and most important chambers of commerce in the world, founded back in 1882, and today has more than 420,000 members.
