Taxi services, actually drivers who serve those services, can really often be unsatisfying, for people using such a services, especially if that is a case with tourist, foreigners.
That is why VISIT SARAJEVO gives you some initial information how to handle TAXI drivers in Sarajevo.
- Once you get into TAXI always ask the TAXI driver to turn the taximeter ON.
- The price for starting the TAXI is 1,5 KM (0,75 EUR), plus every km costs 1,00 KM (0,5 EUR).
- If you feel unsafe (single girl, youngster, etc) to argue with a driver because of money he asks, best way is not to, but when you exit the TAXI, remember the TAXI provider name and in here, find the number and contact them, by saying what happened.
- Luggage is free for 10 kg, so be aware.
- Main Bus station and Railway station are near the center of city so the trams are working, and there is no need for TAXI unless it is a bit of trouble finding the street or certain address.
- Lukavica Bus station which is a bit far away from center of city is reachable by public transport, but most probably the TAXI would be the best option, and it should not cost more than 20 KM (10 EUR).
